Why Americans Don’t Vacation – NJNews

Summer is here and I hope some of our readers/listeners are planning vacations.  If your guap game is lacking then I recommend buying an expensive plane ride to somewhere cheap like South America.  CNN opened my eyes today about America and our robot work ethics.  Some countries in Europe, by law, provide 4-6 weeks of paid vacation to employees.  In the U.S we are lucky to get 2 weeks and would still have to answer emails or return calls. Consequently, never being able to relieve yourself of a tech device.   The CNN article goes on to explain why some think  Americans get pleasure from hard work and Europeans gain pleasure from leisure.

New Jawn was lucky enough to conduct music therapy sessions in Peru, Mexico, Spain and Costa Rica.  We were constantly the only Americans in most hostels and local bars.  Instead, bombarded with Aussies and Europeans that have government support to take time off to travel and bullshit.  Of course being the only American at an international bonfire is like walking around with a loaded shotgun and a winning lottery ticket.  The belt was notched plenty.  Travel > Work
