GONE TOO SOON: Wild Sweet Orange (2004 – 2010)

Wild Sweet Orange were an indie rock band from Homewood, Alabama that disbanded in 2010. Their songs were lyric driven tunes that had the potential to get them into the mainstream, had they not decided to call it quits after just one full length release. Wild Sweet Orange put out The Whale EP in 2007, but it wasn’t until the release of their 2008 full length We Have Cause To Be Uneasy that they started to receive recognition for the amazing music they were creating. With a song included on a hit TV series and an appearance on Late Night With David Letterman, WSO showed all signs of becoming a household name amongst music fans. Unfortunately, shortly after the departure of a few members of the band, it was announced via their Facebook page that Wild Sweet Orange were calling it quits. I did have the pleasure to catch their live show at The Church and can always pop on what has became one of my favorite albums to listen to front to back, but it’s disappointing to know that’s all we’ll ever have from this gone, but not forgotten band.
