The National – England (Cloud, MP3)
I haven’t been able to stop listening to this song since I heard the cover of it on the Mumford & Sons episode of MTV’s Unplugged. The National track off High Violet, “England”, is an amazing tune and it’s hard to decide which version is better. Sure, I’m a “sucker for anything acoustic”, but the original has so much going on that just blows my mind. I like the change of lyrics by Mumford & Sons though to make it from the first-person perspective, since they are from England after all. Which one do you think is better? It’s a tough call.
