Joe Paterno to resign from Penn State – NJNews
Joe Paterno has officially announced that he will not return as the head coach of Penn State’s football program next year. Like my oldhead Norris says, “if you see something, say something” and that goes double when we’re talking about child molestation. Sure, Paterno covered his own ass by informing his boss, Penn State athletic director Tim Curly, of the child abuse incident back in 2002, but he never did anything to ensure that Jerry Sandusky, the alleged pedophile, was removed from all involvement with Penn State. Standing with his hands in his pockets, not getting them dirty, has proved to be the demise of the winningest coach in Division I history. His 46 years as head coach of the Nittany Lions will go down in a scandal that has disgraced not just the football program, but the school as a whole. Vice President of Finance, Gary Shultz, and director Curly will face criminal charges, while Paterno will only be subject to public scrutiny and losing his job. Either way, it seems everyone involved got fucked by Sandusky.
