Bamboozle returns to Asbury Park for 10 year celebration – NJNews
The Bamboozle Festival has gotten a reputation of being a teenagers dream concert over the past 3-4 years. The New Jersey, 3-day festival started back in 2003 in Asbury Park, but relocated to Giants Stadium in 2006. That was the only year I got to attend and it was a solid lineup that included Taking Back Sunday, AFI, H.I.M., Method Man, Fall Out Boy, and a bunch of other bands that I was stoked about at the time. Since, it has grown even larger in terms of the number of acts to perform, even adding a West Coast addition known as The Bamboozle Left.
This year, in honor of the 10th year for the festival, it’s going back to where it started in Asbury Park. Announcements of headliners came out a couple weeks back and included Foo Fighters, Blink 182, and Bon Jovi. Typical of Jersey to force the youth to sit thru a Jovi show. Shame on you! Additional acts announced today include Incubus, Skrillex, and Mac Miller. It seems they are trying to mix in the young with the old this time around, which is good considering Bamboozle has been overrun with 15 year olds in recent years. It’s being held on May 18th – 20th at North Beach. We’ll keep you updated on any other noteworthy acts that may get added.
