The Shins – September (MP3, Video)
I want to lie and say that the return of The Shins is everything I hoped it would be, but that wouldn’t be honest at all. “Simple Song” is decent, but I wanted more. Now the b-side, and track number five on Port Of Morrow, has leaked and it’s extremely disappointing. I know James Mercer has always had a soft spot for including this type of twangy, slowed down music on The Shins’ albums, but I guess I just wish he would have pumped out something more attention grabbing prior to the album’s release. Judge for yourself. The band has also announced a North American tour but no Philly show was included. Not sure if there are more to come.
