Daft Punk – Random Access Memories

Daft Punk is streaming their Random Access Memories now and the Internet is going nuts for it. The only exciting feature besides Pharrell is Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas on the track “Instant Crush”. You can check out the full album below and pick up RAM next Tuesday.

Four Tet & Atoms For Peace – Pyramid Remix (Cloud)

We all expected some remixes for the Atoms For Peace songs and who better to help out with that project than Four Tet. Here goes the reverse of that idea with Yorke and company remixing one of Tet’s tracks “Pyramid”. My money is on a split remix release. Still bummed that Liacouras is the best we could get for the Philly show.

Fuck yes. Just when you thought it was going to be necessary to travel to Chi-town to catch Nine Inch Nails and Queens Of The Stone Age at Lollapalooza this summer, Made In America come out of nowhere with a sick lineup of diverse proportions. Sure. Jay-Z isn’t listed as performing, but I’ll guarantee he makes an appearance during the Beyonce headlining performance. Plenty of dance parties with Calvin Harris, deadmau5, Wolfgang, and Nero. The hip hop scene will be all you could ask for as well with Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Wiz, and 2 Chainz. Throw in Empire Of The Sun and you have the must see summer festival Philly has been blessed with for 2013. Tickets officially on sale next Wednesday.

Diplo Presents: Trap Hawk Down (Video)

Back on January 20th, Diplo set out on a 4-show tour that took place all in one night, proving he’s the hardest working white dude in the music biz. Him & his team filmed the night where he hit Baltimore, Philly, Atlantic City, and NYC. I heard the show at Sound Garden Hall was wild. I bet attendees weren’t too happy in AC though, where he kept his set to only 20 minutes but got to peep some asses that were “made in laboratories”.  I wanna see some of the lost footage from between each show. The Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts, or PIFA, returns once again for a Spring celebration of the City’s art scene. Deacon makes music that only the craziest of individuals can listen to on a normal day, but pop a couple Molly jawns, and I think I could get into this combustion of noise. Who’s in? Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich hosted a mix on BBC Radio 1 that includes plenty of Yorke material but nothing from the duo’s new Atoms For Peace release. Regardless, worth a listen. It starts off with Thom and Johnny Greenwood’s track with Doom which I am a big fan of. If you have two hours to kill, check out the full thing. Likely, you’ll just skip around like I did. Passion Pit – Where I Come From (Cloud, MP3)

The Twilight movies always seem to get a stellar soundtrack compiled. Thom Yorke had that amazing track for New Moon and The Joy Formidable tune from the last one was a keeper. For Breaking Dawn: Part 2, it appears to be the same case. The opener is a new song from Passion Pit. It starts out just alright, but then a minute in, when it gets all electronic on us, it becomes something rather enjoyable. Check it out.

Crystal Castles – III

Crystal Castles are readying III, their third album funny enough. I’ve already heard the two leaked tracks, “Wrath Of God” and “Plague”, and both are fascinating in their own way. All of CC’s previous albums have plenty of tunes that I just can’t get in to, but the few standouts always get consistent play. I don’t expect there to be another “Not In Love” but that’s simply because Robert Smith isn’t listed as a guest feature for III. Enjoy the leak.

Atoms For Peace – What The Eyeballs Did (Cloud)

Atoms For Peace leak the b-side for the “Default” 7″. I can hear a little more Flea in this track though. Around the 3:00 mark, It gets a little tripped out with a funky bassline. Still sounds like it could just be Radiohead music to me. The chick on the end sounds like the bass was givin’ her a wetty.

Diplo & Friends – BBCRXtra1 Halloween Special (Cloud)

Diplo hosts a BBC Radio program every week where he plays new music in club, electronic, hip hop, and whatever the fuck else he wants. This week, he did a three hour mix for Halloween. Obviously, I haven’t had a chance to listen to the whole thing, but this would have been perfect for those house parties last week where dumb asses didn’t load a playlist and just kept having to go over and change their iPod.
