The Weeknd released the title track from his upcoming album Kiss Land. This track has a ton of build up from the opening seconds but the chorus sould have delivered more. I still mess with it, but expected a little more from the first leak off his next jawn. The Weeknd is going to have a tough time getting this played on the radio.

Daft Punk is streaming their Random Access Memories now and the Internet is going nuts for it. The only exciting feature besides Pharrell is Strokes’ frontman Julian Casablancas on the track “Instant Crush”. You can check out the full album below and pick up RAM next Tuesday.
UPDATE: Random Access Memories has leaked as most of the Internet is now aware. The album that most of you have been dying to hear supposedly does not disappoint from all of the reviews I’m reading. Rumor has it the track with Panda Bear is really good.
Pusha T gets a new Kanye beat for his next single “Numbers On The Boards”. This beat sounds like a throwback Wu instrumental. This is some hard shit that will land on Pusha’s My Name Is My Name.
The National will release Trouble Will Find Me next Tuesday and everything that they’ve managed to allow fans to hear is proving to be another great collection from the band. “Sea Of Love” was debuted on Fallon a little ways back and now we have the official video with a rocking little baby boy doing his best air guitar. I’m loving this track.
Jay-Z is one of many big names to have new music on the official soundtrack for the upcoming The Great Gatsby movie. The flick starring Leo DiCaprio is the latest from Baz Luhrmann and looks just as flamboyant as his other work. Check out “100$ Bill” which sounds like it could be an old Jay track that didn’t make the album. Still better than his recent mainwork. Glad to see that awesome Jack White cover of “Love Is Blindness” found a home on this soundtrack too.
We all expected some remixes for the Atoms For Peace songs and who better to help out with that project than Four Tet. Here goes the reverse of that idea with Yorke and company remixing one of Tet’s tracks “Pyramid”. My money is on a split remix release. Still bummed that Liacouras is the best we could get for the Philly show.
4-20 music indeed. Wiz and Spitta put together a short EP for their mutual fanbase. I can imagine how cloudy the studio must have been when they put Live In Concert together. Music. They’re just giving it away these days.
There is an obscene amount of buzz around the new Daft Punk album. The lead single with Pharrell has been getting a ton of attention. You can check Pharrell performing the track in its entirety finally. Gotta admit it. Track is a banger. Disco is back baby. Need to locate my crazy gold medallion. MP3 download isn’t the live version.
Ghostface Killah was quiet for a short minute, but an unexpected new project with Adrian Younge is his latest venture. I thought him and Doom were supposed to have a full album together, but I’ll take this. He gets a few Wu-Tang guest spots, including INS, Cappadonna, U-God, and Masta Killah. That is some gangsta, evil artwork. Check out the new video for “Rise Of The Ghostface” with an appearance from RZA. Also super evil.
Empire Of The Sun are well overdue for new music. The follow up to Walking On A Dream is five years in the making and the first taste is “Alive”, the lead single from Ice On The Dune, due out in June. I was super excited to see they will be at Made In America. The bizarre outfits and stage performance should be an attraction at the two-day festival at the end of the summer.
Frank Ocean drops some visuals for my favorite track off channel Orange. As expected, the new video contains footage of Frank traveling the world. I hope he doesn’t wait years to drop another album. His genius should be a relative frequent gift.
Jay asks that you please let this knock. “Open Letter” is Hov going off about what a boss he is. Still talking about the drug game? Let that go Jay. Stick with the running with Obama rhymes and whatnot instead. Much more believable. Swizz on the beat, I assume.
Goddamn, TNGHT. These dudes are goin’ in tonight at Starlight Ballroom. Wish I had the energy and time to just eat drugs and get wild on a random Wednesday. Hudson Mohawke, who signed with G.O.O.D. Music as a producer and I can’t wait to hear lay tracks with Yeezy, and Lunice go so fucking hard on “Acrylics”. Get all over this one. Have fun tonight you party animals.
With the title track from his new album, The Dream once again ensures that he won’t get much radio friendly play. He’s definitely the biggest freak in the R&B game since Kellz. If IV Play is half as good as this early taste, we’re in for a treat once again. I say it every time, The Dream is top three in the present R&B game. Hey Franky and Abel.
Real big to land the lead single off the new Funk Flex album. Action Bronson delivers some real New York hip hop for “Live From Kissena Blvd.” which will land on Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself?, a much overdue mix from Flex. “I been a dad”. Enough said Bronson. That’s why we fuckin’ with you since the start.
With debuting this track last week and now the announcement of QOTSA at Made In America, I had to get on the hunt for the studio recording to download. “My God Is The Sun” is an instant classic from QOTSA. This and NIN live together? Just throw in the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and my entire wishlist for this summer will be complete. Fingers crossed there are a few more additions to the lineup… Like Clockwork is out in June.
The National have leaked the first track off Trouble Will Find Me, due out on May 20th. Most tracks from these guys take a few listens to grow on me, so I am sure I will be a big fan of “Demons” by the end of the week. True to their usual sound.
I’m still calling him Mos Def. Fuck it. Here’s a new track with production from Kanye West. Mos always has a tight flow and with a Yeezy beat, it’s definitely worth a listen. Not sure where this will land, but feelin’ it.
Kid Cudi gets back to his rap shit for a track with West Coast legend Too $hort. It’s been a while since spit like this and it’s still more sing-song than most MC’s. Indicud is coming soon. Keep putting out tracks like this and their could possibly be people buzzing about you again, Cudder.
