Kanye is returning to the SNL stage once again for the SNL 38th Season Finale on May 18th with host Ben Affleck. He’s going to premiere new music is the rumor off his upcoming supposedly dark new album. Ye also had his demo tape Know The Game hit the internet recently just like the Kendrick incident of a couple weeks back. Enjoy Young Yeezy.
Tim & Eric are back with a six episode web series called Tim & Eric’s Go Pro Show that follows the every day lives of the comedy favorites. Check out the first two episodes that premiered yesterday and today on YouTube. Not much going on, but you do get to see the guys receive calls from Hollywood big wigs like Spielberg and Pacino. I wonder who will drop them a line in the next episode. Plenty of goofs and pranks to come, I hope.

Divine Fits performed a couple tracks on Jimmy Kimmel Live during the week and I’m just getting around to giving them a watch. They blessed us with a track fronted by each of their singers. Surprisingly, neither was a track I would have expected, but that’s just fine. I don’t give some of the later tracks off A Thing Called Divine Fits enough play.

Justin Timberlake made his 5th hosting visit to Saturday Night Live last night and brought a bunch of celebrities with him, including Hov for a performance of “Suit & Tie”. JT did most of his recurring characters from his SNL history. No Barry Gibb Talk Show though. R.I.P. Robin Gibb. The second performance was “Mirrors”. No outro. Bummer.

Adam Levine hosted SNL last night with musical guest Kendrick Lamar. We got to see the return of Andy Samberg and the Digital Short for the first time since his departure. The Lonely Island premiered their latest video for “YOLO”. Funny shit.
“That’s why I need to be milked, cuz I’m grazing all day”… Action Bronson stops by Tim Westwood TV to chop it up while across the pond. Listen for some ridiculous shit. “You never ate sushi off a black hooker” had to be the best line of this shit. Bronson is a beast. All high on wax. What the fuck?

Santigold contributes a new track for the upcoming soundtrack to the HBO series Girls. The show impressed me with their music selections throughout the season, but much of it wasn’t new introductions. Just good choices. Glad to see a mix of new and old tunes will be included on the show’s compilation. Check out the latest from Santigold.
Dig this track heavy. I’m sure the fact that Dev Hynes wrote and produced it is playing a heavy role in that, but Solange seems to heavy a nice throwback R&B style going on anyway. Peep Dev and his new protege do some sychronized dancing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, performing her single “Losing You”
The Weeknd is the future of R&B music. He was able to get us all on board by giving away three free mixtapes and merged them into his debut Trilogy release. He made his debut on Jools Holland the other night. Check out Abel performing “Wicked Games” on the BBC program.
Rihanna came back to SNL last night and performed two tracks off her upcoming album, Unapologetic. The single “Diamonds” isn’t her best hit in my opinion, but I did enjoy the debut of “Stay” as the second performance. Host Anne Hathway wasn’t too funny, but still had a few laughs.
Rihanna keeps the singles coming with her next from Unapologetic. “Lost In Paradise” sounds more like a radio hit than the first track “Diamonds”. I’m sure both will get performed this weekend on SNL, when Rihanna is the musical guest along with Anne Hathaway. Couple babes on the tube. Set the DVR.
The Late Show with David Letterman didn’t let Hurricane Sandy postpone their episiode last night. The show went on without the audience with Dave hosting Paul Banks debuting a new track off his solo joint Banks. I guarentee that PB switched up the song he was going to perform when he heard about the lack of audience. The album has plenty of catchy jams, but “Young Again” sets the mood right.
The zombie apocalypse series The Walking Dead returns tonight for the premiere of season three. If you’re a fan of the show, you remember one of the main characters getting offed just before the finale last year and the brief introduction of Michonne, who is one of the more badass characters from the comic series. From the trailers, we also know that brother Merle is returning this year, minus a hand of course. Writers are taking it to the prison this year since the farm got overrun by Walkers. No spoilers here, just a little hype for the third season of one of the more entertaining series on television. Oh you have Dish? You suck then.
I just watched the complete second season of the Ricky Gervais classic series Extras for the first time in years. Sometimes I take Gervais for granted because now he’s a bit pompous and laughs at his own jokes way too much. That shouldn’t take away from the fact that The Office and Extras are two of the funniest series in television history. Probably the funniest part of the series was when David Bowie stopped by the V.I.P. section and creates an impromptu song about the show’s star Andy Millman. “Little fat man with the pug nose face…” Hilarius shit.
I was going to ruin my run of boycotting Jay Leno since The Hives made an appearance on his show last week and I felt it only fair to share it since those Swedes are fucking awesome. But then, I decided to just post footage of them performing the same song from their show in NYC a few months back. Enjoy “Take Back The Toys” and say fuck you to Jay Leno once again.
The highlight of the BET Awards has been The Cypher the past couple years. A few years back, the one with Lupe, Styles P, and Papoose was fire. And last year, the Shady Records crew killed it. The 2012 ceremony is taking place on October 9th and will be hosted by jokeman Mike Epps. The Cypher lineup has a few already set “teams”, but the other MC’s will be paired up. Kara Monaco starred on this year’s 14th season of the reality program Big Brother. Before she tried her hand at winning a half-million on TV, she was a Playmate of the Year, a little fact they failed to mention during her short-lived stay in the BB house. Kara wasn’t shy for the camera, but didn’t enough time to bare it all to her fellow houseguests. Such a shame that viewers didn’t get to see this blonde beauty all summer long, because she definitely looks like she knows how to bend the rules, which always makes for an entertaining season. Maybe we’ll see more of her in the finale.
James Mercer and what he is now calling The Shins stopped by the Australian series Like A Version. Mercer performed a cover tune with “Andrew In Drag”, originally by The Magnetic Fields. That song is kind of twisted, about a friend falling in love with his friend when he sees him dressed as a woman. Very odd choice, James. They also perform “It’s Only Life” off Port Of Morrow.

Neck Of The Woods is yet another solid release from Silversun Pickups. They are making the rounds in support of their third full length and stopped by Letterman yesterday. They performed one of my favorite songs out right now, “Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings)”. Looking forward to seeing SSP at the FireFly Music Festival.
