Maybe it’s because I was in my Sunday DVR bag, but HBO had my attention yesterday. While catching up on Game Of Thrones, it crossed my mind that we’ve slept on Emilia Clarke as a NJOTW for way too long. The natural brunette has been going blonde as Daenerys Targaryen since last season of Thrones. While her role this year is focused on being “The Mother of Dragons”, last season she was running around naked with her brother, getting dicked down by the new Conan, and waking up nude after birthing some dragons in a storm of fire. Thrones may not be for everyone, but I’m pretty sure Emilia could spark some interest to most.

The Echo Friendly – Same Mistakes (MP3, Video)
Posted in Indie, MP3, Television, Video with tags girls credits song episode 5, same mistakes girls, the echo friendly on May 21, 2012 by New JawnHave you been watching the new HBO series Girls? It’s pretty hilarious. It kinda reminds me of Juno-type humor, but much more vulgar. If you think joking around about abortions, STD’s, and sending dick pics all make for top notch comedy, this might be the show for you. The music selections are pretty badass as well. I’ve heard quite a number of songs I dig, but when last night’s episode 5 was going off, I heard this jam for the first time and instantly busted out the Shazam jawn. Check out The Echo Friendly and their single “Same Mistakes”. The official video was posted two weeks ago, so I assume they’re a relatively new band. More research will be required.
Silversun Pickups on Kimmel (Video)
Posted in Alternative, Television, Video on May 12, 2012 by New JawnSilversun Pickups are making the rounds to promote the release of their third full length Neck Of The Woods. They stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live this week to perform the lead single “Bloody Mary” and another track from the new release named “The Pit”. I’m officially in love with this band. They’ve dropped three albums that are good front to back, or ATM as it’s being called now by the cool kids.

Posted in Rock & Roll, Television, Video on April 25, 2012 by New JawnJack White released Blunderbuss yesterday and if you didn’t already, get out there and pick it up. It’s less twangy than my initial expectations with “Love, Interruption”, which is a good thing. It has its great moments and both tracks he performed on Later…with Jools Holland qualify in that category. Check out his performances of “Sixteen Saltines” and what I have to assume will be the follow-up single, “Freedom at 21″. That’s the track he released a couple of weeks back on a flexi-vinyl via helium balloons. Regardless of the gimmicks, Jack is a legend.
Check It Out with Dr. Steve Brule – Season 2, Episode 6
Posted in Comedy, Television on April 23, 2012 by New JawnJack White performs two tracks from Blunderbuss on German TV (Video)
Posted in Rock & Roll, Television, Video with tags blunderbuss, blunderbuss leak, freedom at 21, jack white, leak, sixteen saltines on April 20, 2012 by New JawnJack White will release Blunderbuss next Tuesday. He’s been out doing some promotion around the globe and making announcements about headlining different summer festivals. He stopped by De Harald Schmidt Show in Germany yesterday and performed two tracks off his upcoming debut, solo album. Glad it wasn’t just the two we’ve been hearing. He skips “Love Interruption” this time and performs “Sixteen Saltines”, along with a new track “Freedom at 21″. So pumped for Blunderbuss.

Posted in Comedy, Television, Video on March 20, 2012 by New JawnSeason Two of Check It Out with Dr. Steve Brule premiered Sunday night/Monday morning on Adult Swim. Brule was back being a total dingus and dedicated the first episode of the new season to boats, or as he calls them, broats. The best part was his interview with this pirate and Johnny Depp impersonator Ronnie Rodriguez. You might recognize him from Billion Dollar Movie also. Watch the clips… for your health.
Jack White – Sixteen Saltines (MP3, Stream)
Posted in MP3, Rock & Roll, Stream, Television on March 13, 2012 by New JawnJack White debuted “Sixteen Saltines” the other week on SNL and I was relieved to hear that his solo material wouldn’t be all twanged up. I’m digging everything he’s leaked so far off Blunderbuss, but I think I speak for most fans when I say I want to hear something that rocks from White. The studio version was posted today and can be streamed below. You can also download the live performance from his SNL appearance in the Cloud below. Blunderbuss is almost here.
Die Antwoord on Kimmel (Video)
Posted in Electronic, Television, Video on February 24, 2012 by New JawnDie Antword brought their “freekiness” over to the Jimmy Kimmel Live show last night to perform two tracks off their new album Ten$Ion. The white-African duo appeared at the Trocadero just a couple weeks ago and I’m sure it was a blast for anyone who caught the show. I haven’t checked out the full new album yet, but “I Fink U Freeky” is constantly sneaking into my head. “Jump Motherfucker! Jump Motherfucker! Jump!” They perform that track and “Fatty Boom Boom”.
YelaWolf & Kid Rock on Letterman (Video)
Posted in Hip Hop, Television, Video on February 16, 2012 by New JawnYelaWolf made the big time last night when he was invited to perform on The Late Show with David Letterman. Unfortunately, he performed the single with Kid Rock that I don’t really get down with, but still happy to see the backwoods kid doing well for himself. Radioactive wasn’t great, but I still think the cover art is pretty rad.
