I can’t bring myself to listen to this and anticipate it will be just as horrible in reality as it in theory, but someone out there has to listen and tell me I’m correct. Psycosis has posted a new mashup mixtape as Neutral Bling Hotel called In My G4 Over Da Sea. It mixes popular raps with the Neutral Milk Hotel classic In The Aeroplane Over The Sea. Why? I don’t know why this exists.

I caught the live stream of this guy’s set at Lollapalooze a couple years back and was amazed by how much energy an overweight guy can display on stage. Especially when he’s making electronic music. Baltimore native Dan Deacon is releasing a new album entitled America and unveiled a track from the full length earlier this week. It’s noisy. It’s confusing. It’s exactly what I would expect this guy’s recorded tunes to sound like.

The Stoned Immaculate is coming soon and Curren$y has had more than enough leaked tracks for us the know it’s gonna be worth forking over some duckets. Curren$y and his Jets team will be in Philly tomorrow night at the Trocadero. Check out “Chasin Paper”, featuring the man himself, Skateboard P. Pharrell may not be the best lyrical MC but I always fucks with his verse on a guest spot.

The Hood Internet are back at it. This time taking a classic like “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems” to mashup with the Penguin Prison track “Don’t Fuck With My Money”. These guys will be at this weekend’s 5th Annual Roots Picnic. Sucks that I won’t be in attendance, but I honestly, I haven’t heard anyone mention going yet. The lineup is tight, so not sure why it’s not receiving the usual hype. If you’re there, don’t skip The Hood Internet’s set. It’ll contain plenty of tracks you love mixed with other tracks you either love or never heard. Gucci.

Smoke DZA is releasing Rugby Thompson on June 19th. He enlists the on the rise producer Harry Fraud for most of the album and even gets some guest spots from fellow-weedheads Domo Genesis and Schoolboy Q. Check out some feel good, roll up music with “Ashtray”.

M83 drop a new music video for a track off Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming. “Midnight City” quickly became one of the most popular songs of the past year and proved that Anthony Gonzalez can be mainstream stateside. “Reunion” is another strong single for M83 to push further into the pop music scene. My question is why was no one dancing at the Union Transfer show? M83 makes dancing music. Hipsters, stay away.

Sheneka Adams is one hood ass chick. She’s a hip hop video and magazine model that you’ve probably most recently seen on the cover of KING Magazine with Sincerely Ward. They’re doing a huge North American tour in support of their latest effort, but hopefully will perform old material for their die-hards to enjoy. Give Valtari a listen and if you’re a true fan, go buy a legit copy. Support the Iceland music scene… if that’s a thing.

When Nick Oliveri isn’t involved in a SWAT standoff or performing naked, he’s busy making gnarly music. The former Kyuss & QOTSA bassist has been recording as Mondo Generator since his departure and reteamed with the frontmen of his former bands on his latest album, Hell Comes To Your Heart. Stream the track below. Glad to see that Oliveri and Josh Homme have smoothed things over enough to work together. Some of those QOTSA tracks that Oliveri sang on are still some of my favorites.

Azealia Banks has digitally released her debut EP, 1991, and it will hit stores 2 weeks from tomorrow. There’s a huge buzz around the Harlem MC. A$AP said he thinks she should cool out on coming at people’s necks considering she’s just starting to get on. I agree with that. You don’t want to be known for just diss records. It didn’t do shit for Canibus and left 50 Cent with no choice but to go back to being called Curtis. Stick to the party jams, AB.
