Wes Anderson’s “Moonrise Kingdom” (Trailer)

It’s been five years since Wes Anderson last released an original film. While 2009’s Fantastic Mr. Fox was a good adaptation of the Roald Dahl children’s classic, I don’t consider it a real part of Anderson’s collection. The Darjeeling Limited was a disappointment on my end, so when I heard about Moonrise Kingdom, I immediately hoped for a return to form for my favorite director. From the looks of this newly released trailer, Wes is back. I’ve seen these camera shots and the dialogue has the same dry humor that he’s used in all of his classics. Some people may read that and think that is a negative statement, but it’s just the opposite. Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou are probably three of my top five favorite films of all time, so if even the smallest piece of their greatness can be seen in Moonrise Kingdom, I’m in. Watch the trailer for yourself.
