Phillies trade Pence & Victorino – NJNews

After just meeting these two heads, they’re goners for the Phils. With the trade deadline upon the MLB, it was time for the Phillies to make some moves and they unloaded a couple of big names with Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino. Even with Victorino not hitting well this season, fans are sad to see him go since he’s been a staple on the team for some of our best years. He has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers for two right-handers, Josh Lindblom and Ethan Martin, along with another player to be named. Pence is headed to San Fran with the Giants in exchange for outfielder Nate Schierholtz, catcher Tommy Joseph, and right-hander Seth Rosin. Hopefully some of the young blood will light a fire under the struggling team’s asses. I thought Philly had baseball on lock with the way the last few years went down. Not the case this 2012 season so far. Get it together, Uncle Charlie.
